We recently had the privilege of catching up with founder of Mike 23 Scott Nelson.
Here are some encouraging words , and a brief update from the man himself.
I have been doing MIKE still...just on a different level than before....not really trying to sell wholesale to stores...I have been doing this for 20 plus years and it is my life and unfortunately , I believe the market and these boutiques are carrying a ton of shit brands....I dealt with all the best stores globally early on and they will all turn their back on you if you offend their NIKE account...
You can see the ill sunglasses I had made...read the process page and you will know what I mean...I would rather keep the integrity of the brand super high than just put my shit in any store...there is something rad as fuck about doing it your damn self and finding people globally who can appreciate what you do...priceless...
I also check out things from time to time and lately I have been wanting to branch out and explore my horizons...so I do look for projects that are of interest to me, to do graphics for and design...
I hear you with doing it all yourself but, if it is what you really want, you will find ways to make it work out and grow...just do it for the love and let others see that and they will want to be involved in what you do...
The best advice I can give you is to believe in yourself and never, ever give up!!! NEVER!!!
